Pair of Stained Leaded Glass Panels 

'Archangel Michael brings souls to God' 

&

'Angel closes gate to hell'

Beautifully painted on vibrantly coloured leaded stained glass. Housed in matching oak frames.

2 contrasting scenes: 1 with Archangel Michael bringing souls to Heaven, and the other of an Angel locking the gates of Hellmouth, with the tortured souls shown in Hell.

Undated but speculated to be early 20th century, likely from a church or chapel. 

Numerous photos of the stained glass, taken both verso and recto, with and without back lighting, as well as with different levels of lighting, are included. With the perfect amount of back lighting, these windows display beautifully.

In fine condition, save for the old mounting holes. Acquired from a large Toronto home, where they were mounted in a Library/Smoking Room. Speculated to have had professional restoration at some point.

Both measure 221/2 x 213/4 inches (in frame) and 181/2 x 175/8 inches (sight within frame).
